Update in the land of Sizzle

Hey y'all! So, I have not blogged in a really, really long time. So much has been going on! Where to begin?! Let's see...Oh!! My hubs Jason did Ironman Florida last week, and it was amazing! I won't post a ton of pics, but this is the link to his blog where there are more pics, etc. Jason's blog. If you do not know what an Ironman is, it is a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run. He did great, he finished in 13 hours! I am so proud of him.

What else..oh yeah, I went to my fertility consultation, and have started Clomid. I just finished my first round, so we shall see if that helps me some. The doctor warned me that multiple pregnancies could occur if I do become pregnant. How wonderful would that be? Wonderful and overwhelming at the same time. I will start round two of Clomid during my next cycle...unless I become pregnant. I am praying for the latter. We shall see. I never thought this would be so hard and never realized how many people are having a hard time getting pregnant as well. It really is a miracle if you are one of the few that can get pregnant quickly. My youngest sister is pregnant, she is due in April. I am so excited for her. She just found out she is having a boy! :) I wish I could be pregnant with her, how fun that would be! We shall see. Say a little prayer for me if you can :)
Anywho, that is pretty much all that I have been up to lately. Thanksgiving is coming up soon! Too soon if you ask me. I am not ready at all! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving though and until next time!! xoxo

Sneezing, Dreaming, Coughing, and Cooking

Today I woke up with my usual stuffy nose and congestion that I have been having for the past three weeks. I thought nothing of it and decided to go on into work. Once I got to work my stomach started cramping and that stuffy head feeling got worse. Work sent me home. I decided to call the doctor and see what is going on. If it were allergies, it would have subsided by now. My doctor fortunately had an opening soon and I headed on in. I dreaded waiting. Even though they say your appointment is at a certain time, be prepared to wait. And wait. Wait. Keep waiting. Almost...psych! Wait. Yup, that is usually how it goes. I was prepared to wait though. I had a fully charged blackberry, comfy shoes, and a nice sweater I could take off if need be and use as a pillow. As I was just sitting down from checking in a lady around my age comes in like a tornado. She is loud and happy. Too happy for the doctor's office. I tried not to eavesdrop, although it was hard because she was so loud. I got bits and pieces. "Excited...Pregnancy Test...Hopefully." I was just starting to get into this magazine article when she comes and sits down across from me. I happened to look up at her. Wrong move. She started talking as if I were her best friend. "I am so excited! I took three pregnancy tests and they all came back positive. I wanted to come in to really make sure you know?" I started to reply but got cut off again "I mean, I don't want to get my hopes up, you know?" There was a long enough pause for me to wish her the best of luck and then she was whisked to the back for blood work. As I was still waiting it got me thinking about my struggles with trying to conceive and how it always seems like everyone you know is pregnant or you hear more about pregnancies when you are trying yourself. I guess you notice it more because its on your mind the majority of the time. I digress, I went on in shortly after to see the doc and found out I have a secondary sinus infection. The doc gave me Codeine and some Antibiotics. So, I decided to give myself another 24 hours before I go back to work. I don't want to get my co-workers sick or the little ones.

After I got my meds I went straight to Walgreens. While I was waiting for my meds to get ready, I decided to buy this shampoo I had been wanting to try. It is by Nexxus. It is called Pro Mend for split ends.  I got the shampoo, conditioner, and night time leave in treatment. So, I will let you guys know how my hair does. I may even post a picture if it is fabulous, if not then nevermind, I won't post a picture.
So when I got home and got my meds in me I decided to make Brunswick Stew for tomorrow night. I have to say, the thing I hate to see, touch, cook is raw chicken. It is so gross to me. Blech. I weathered through though and I think this Brunswick Stew is going to be good. It still has an hour left to cook, but it looks delicious already!

So, that is what I have been up to today. Not a whole lot, but I wasn't feeling the perkiest either. I have a busy rest of the week! Thursday I am going to see my OB/GYN for a Fertility Consultation and am praying that goes well and that I can get some good news and advice and then Friday is my birthday! So, I have a lot of rest to catch up on. Until next time! xoxo

My First Blog

Well, this is my first blog. I am a little nervous. I cannot imagine anyone would want to read my blog. For one, I have no idea what  I will blog about. I am all over the place and am very random. I guess I could start by introducing myself. *Clears throat* Hi! My name is Sissy Hand (that is me up there). I know what you are thinking. Is that really her name? Yes, yes it is. I live in Florida with my hubby Jason, and our four dogs. Herschel is a Dachshund, Dante is a  Yorkshire Terrier, Sally is a German Shorthair Pointer, and Conner is a Collie. I love my dogs as if they were my children. Since I do not have any children (working on that), they are my babies. I am a teacher, and last year around this time I got my Nursing license (anyone need an LPN let me know). I got my B.A. in Education, but after caring for my mom decided Nursing was what I wanted to do. I hope to go back and finish my RN. That reminds me. I actually need to check into that some more. See, I am random. Anyhooters, I love meeting new people and making new friends! Once I get over my shyness I am actually pretty chatty and you can't shut me up. I am a dork. I admit that. I own it. I have my own style. I love all  kinds of music. Right now, I am enjoying the New Kids On The Block reunion. I love reliving my childhood and have met some amazing people on this journey. There are so many wonderful and beautiful people out there, and so many places that I have been able to go to because of that. Speaking of Traveling! I love traveling! If I could have a job traveling I would be in heaven. I just love seeing new places! Well, let me see. Did I leave out anything? Anything you want to know, just ask! Well, til the next one...take care! xoxo
